I did not say my cars do not go on display. They often do, and are appreciated, as you say. It's just the 'concours' type of shows that I don't go in for. Everyone who brings that 'special' car out is a winner in my book. A bit of patina is fine...
I've found 'poly' bushes don't have the same characteristics as rubber. They are 'harsher', and tend to deteriorate rather quickly too.
OK for race cars, etc, if they are replaced regularly...
Couldn't agree more. Still chuffed at doing the SKF rear track-rod bearings replacement on the MCV. Your help, with very clear instructions, made the job a snack, Zep. Saved me thousands of $s, AND I enjoyed the journey...
I asked my (independent) mechanic about doing a clutch wear check on my MCV. He thinks it's just another thing to 'worry' about. "When the clutch starts to give trouble is the time to replace it" was his advice.
