Battery Problem.

I have a 4200 CC 2004 facelift which requires a battery replacement. I have the new battery. So my question is, can I simply remove the old battery and replace the new one, or do I have to get a garage to replace it. The reason I ask is because I have been told that if the old battery is removed and there is no power, then I will have to enter various codes for the engine and radio, when I fit the new one. Is this true?

A couple of years ago I had to take my battery off my 2003 4200 for a day to put it on charge in the shed. Didn’t cause a problem.

Not at all true. Straight swap (unless you have some funky aftermarket head unit)
