OK so all of you that are looking to do this, first thing is to make sure you have a USB drive. USB3 is better. Must be 16G or smaller. Must be formatted FAT

While you are...
Autel AP-200 will do it. It's about £80 from Amazon and worth its weight in gold.
If you're anywhere near me, potter on over and I'll do it for you. <Caveat: is it the service or the oil viscosity warning?>

Surely if you're filling it with *warm* air, then sealing it, when that warm (ergo wetter) air cools, you're going to get condensation. Counter intuitively I wonder if putting it in the freezer would be a better idea...

Nope. The original X-pipe has a 'resonator' which is effectively a silencer. I *think* GS or some QPs (dunno where that I got that idea) may have no resonator on the X-pipe, but I could well be wrong.
<edit>
According to Eurospares at least some of the GS came with a resonator on the X-pipe...
It's a way of telling all the modules to talk to each other.
This is going to be tricky. Was the socket working with the old body ECU?
In honesty I think you will need a professional for this
